Hello！！　Yukaです

最近は、4月というのに寒いですねっ

昨日北海道では雪が降ったらしいですよっ！！

さあ、今回はCamilleが最近東山動物園に行ってきたらしく、

その時のことについて語ってくれました！！

My Trip to the Higashiyama Zoo 

  Hey Everybody! Camille here. I absolutely love visiting zoos. It is a chance for nature-starved people to see how rich and unique life on this earth is, and the best zoos are splendid exhibitions of park landscaping as well. One recent sunny Saturday afternoon, I went to the Higashiyama Zoo, and it turned out to be a wonderful day. This was just after the peak of the sakura season, so the zoo was showered with falling sakura petals. The petals were scattered over the ground, the pens, and even the animals. Imagine the soft fur of a bambi deer flecked with shadow, spots, and tiny velvet petals. When the wind blew, the petals swirled around me like swarms of pink and white butterflies.         

 My boyfriend and I had packed a picnic lunch, so we took a seat opposite the rhinoceros pen and enjoyed the sun and the sweetness of fresh fruit and inari-zushi. Meanwhile, the rhinoceros was taking a shower. S/He (I don’t know which) was absolutely enormous, and plated with thick armor. Some animals just look like they come from another planet.           

A bit past the giraffes and ostriches, I came upon a cage with a strange goat-antelope-looking creature. I got a bit closer and was shocked to recognize this animal! It was the forest spirit from Miyazaki’s moviePrincess Mononoke! I had always thought that the forest spirit was make-believe, but I guess it’s a real animal. It’s called a　かもしか, or Japanese Serow in English. This animal exists only in Japan. The forest god lives!          

All in all, I was impressed by the variety of the animals kept in the Higashiyama Zoo and the size and beauty of the grounds. It’s an old zoo, but I think it’s well worth the 500 admission. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to go through the botanical gardens. I’ll save that for next time!

そう言えば、日本語の「カラオケ」は海外でそのまま使用されていますが、外国？訛りで「カリオ～キー ♪」って発音されていますよね。

言葉って本当に趣き深いです！

みなさんこんにちわ。新しくL-ONEアドバイザーとして入りました、MAMIです。

先日まで高山市の山にて仕事をしておりました。スノーボード大好きです！！！

又、カナダにてワーキングホリデーで一年と半年過ごしました。

カナダでは良い仲間にめぐり合い、とてもいい時間を過ごすことができました。

趣味は、スノーボード、料理、お友達とお話をすることです。

また、カナダに行っていたこともありトロントのことなら何でもお聞きください

I just got back from a mountain the other day:I was working at a ski resort in Takayama city - I love snowboarding!!!!

Also I went to Canada in Toronto for working holiday.

I met nice people there and I had a great time in Canada.

I like snowboarding, cooking, meeting new people and talking with my friends!!!
