Hello dear students,

I have been teaching at L-One every Friday, since the beginning of July (2009).
My hometown is in Southern California, but I came to Japan in 1992.
The reason I moved to Japan was to get married.
My wife's hometown is Yokkaichi,so that is why we live there.

Although it
takes me some time to get used to the different teaching situation in L-One, the other teachers and the staff have helped me a lot to become comfortable with the teaching system.
I enjoy teaching you because of your
curiosity about English and Western culture. And I am very grateful that some of you even laugh at my terrible humour.

The ability to communicate in a foreign language is a wonderful and enlightening experience.
I encourage you to use English as much
as possible outside of your lessons. If it isn't always possible, try to at least think in English as you are going about your daily activities. Then you will feel more natural speaking in English when the situation arises.
When you study, I recommend a balance among speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills.
If you do this you will improve
more quickly, because each skill supports another one.

Finally, please ask me about anything that you are curious about. The more you ask, the more you will learn, and the stronger bond you will have with the English language.

Dear J.J.J.,

Thank you for reading the blog and responding. I started teaching here just recently, so I am trying to adapt to the teaching method of L-One as best as I can. (I usually teach company classes, with different teaching material, and teaching style). If you take my lesson in the future (on Friday) please help me to feel welcome and I hope I can make my teaching style as effective as possible for you. Thanks again.
Mike E.
